Sports Massage & Advanced Soft Tissue Therapy
Utilising advanced techniques like Soft Tissue Release (STR), Muscle Energy Techniques (METs), Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy, these treatments help gently to loosen restricted connected tissue and fascia, encourage lengthening of overactive muscles, carefully untangle congested muscle fibres, and smoothly release points of tenderness in muscles and fascia caused by repetitive movements, poor postural alignment, tissue trauma/damage, overload as well as emotional stress.
This is 121 bespoke exercise and movement session based around your personal needs. It's more hands on than a group exercise class in that I can manually correct technique and positioning to support restoring optimal function of the body. As a Sports Therapist and specialist in Women's Wellness, together we can work to treat injuries, dysfunctions and improve issues like pain and tightness that may currently be limiting your current exercise regime and/or daily life. This treatment is for women with a c-section scar which has recently healed or is years old. Scars can cause pain, internal pulling, tightness and numbness over and around the scar tissue. C-Section therapy (including massage therapy and exercise) helps to improve the movement and look of the scar itself and the tissues surrounding the scar.
100% of women have a Diastasis Rectus Abdominus (DRA) by the end of pregnancy, which is a stretching of the tissue that lays between the six-pack muscles. Dependant on various different factors, including genetics, nutrition, hydration, breathing pattern, exercise choices and posture, the healing of DRA can require specific intervention. This treatment includes an assessment of DRA as well as treatment including massage therapy, individualised exercise, and healing nutrition advice.
My postnatal massage offering reduces aches and pains associated with your new role as Mum. Extended periods of time sitting feeding and new repetitive movements related to caring for your new baby can commonly lead to back, shoulder and neck pain. Postnatal massage also helps to induce relaxation and provide you with an opportunity for some much needed 'me-time' to improve emotional as well as physical wellbeing.
This postnatal health check is all about YOU. It involves an in-depth assessment on muscle imbalances which can contribute to postnatal aches pains, and dysfunction, posture, core and pelvic floor functioning, c-section scar assessment (if relevant), nutrition to support healing and some non-judgemental emotional support following the birth of your baby. This check does not include any interval pelvic floor assessment, although I can refer you to a pelvic floor physiotherapists should this be recommended.
Your body undergoes many changes during pregnancy and it is common to experience discomfort such as pelvic girdle pain, low back and specific issues such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. My pregnancy massages take a remedial and corrective approach in order to improve alignment, offset excessive postural changes, reduce swelling, ease aches and pains, support emotional health, reduce stress and promote relaxation.

Whether your goal is weight loss, postnatal healing, pregnancy nutrition, pre-conception and infertility, better hormonal health relating to PMS, peri-menopause, or inflammatory conditions like IBS, endometriosis, allergies, and bloating, this session will open your eyes to a more simple approach to eating. This session can take place in person or online.

It's more individualised than a group exercise class in that we can get really specific with the type of exercise we include in this 121 session whether it's a session based on improving strength or cardiovascular fitness or something more restorative like Pilates or Yoga. As a Sports Therapist and specialist in Women's Wellness, together we can work to treat any injuries or dysfunctions, and offset current or future health concerns associated with the hormonal shifts during menopause including bone, heart, pelvic floor and mental health.
